KANDI KESSLER COMER
Kandi Kessler Comer has been mentoring players of all skill levels for 35 years by providing them with proven knowledge of the game’s basic fundamentals and the mindset to compete. In 2020, she was inducted into the Virginia Golf Hall of Fame for her playing and teaching excellence. Kandi is a US Kids Top 50 Master Junior Instructor and has been recognized by Golf Digest as a top instructor and a Top 100 National Clubfitter. She listed four straight years as a National Top 50 Teaching Professional by Golf For Women. She is consistently named as an elite status top teaching professional by PGA Magazine/GRAA.
Kandi was the instructor of LPGA Tour star Dottie Pepper—winner of 17 tour events including two majors—and coached several other professional golfers as they successfully earned their tour credentials.
Kandi has sent 50+ juniors on to play college golf, and has trained players to compete in US Junior, US Amateur, and US Open championships. In 2005, she was selected as the PGA Junior Golf Leader of the Year. Kandi received the 2019 VSGA Grow the Game Award and was named the MAPGA Southern Chapter Teacher of the Year in 2023. Thanks to her outstanding record of success, she is now known as one of the finest teachers in the game.
A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Kandi Kessler Comer was a fine player herself. She represented the United States in the 1986 Curtis Cup match, competed in five U.S. Women’s Opens—finishing 14th in 1987, won five Virginia State championships (the first to hold the Junior title, Match Play title, and Stroke Play title at the same time), made it to the quarter finals of the 1984 and 1985 U.S. Women’s Amateur championships, claimed several collegiate trophies, and won two professional tournaments. In 1985, Kandi was recognized as one of the top 10 amateur women golfers in United States by Golf Digest. In 2002, she was named one of the Top 50 female golfers in ACC history.
